Croatia Roadtrip

Zagreb, the capital of Croatia is just 3 hours drive from Budapest. The idea for the last weekend in September was to rent a car and see what Croatia can offer us for such a short trip. We were five erasmus people going by one car and we used the time very well so we managed to swim in the sea, visit the Plitvicka lakes and spend one nigth and one day in Zagreb during three days.

We left Budapest on friday morning and went straight to the sea. We chose the village Senj, where we found an cosy apartment for one night. Senj is situated on the cost and surrounded by mountains. The beach wouldn't be very nice for longer holiday but for us - for one afternoon it was perfect. The weather was good so we swam in the sea - for the last time this year.

On saturday morning we left for Plitvicka Lakes, the Natural park. We spent the whole day wolking on wookden path and adoring the beautiful nature. The water was so clear and the blue shades were incredible.

Oltough we visited the park on 1st of October, there were a lot of tourist. I must admit that the park is very good organized. There are buses and boats, which take you to the nicest places, well made wooden paths leading you to nice views without disturbing the nature. The beginning of autumn is the right time to visit Plitvica - you have long days and nice weather but also see the leaves turning red and the nature changing.

Our czech-mexican-french crew in Zagreb, where we became even more international when we met Aaron from the USA, who became our brother instantly (see photo bellow :)). In  Zagreb we spent the rainy day sitting in cafés and chatting. We had a nice walk too and in the afternoon we drove back to Budapest.
